I am Mary Jean (Waugh) Bonar, from the beautiful state of West Virginia — my parents’ only child. My grand-parents lived under the same roof with us, and the house was awash with loving-kindness and visited regularly by siblings of my grandparents. These were Christians and along with my dear parents taught me and all the children right from wrong by the way they lived; and it was expected that I would be honest, well-educated and successful in the world God had planned for me. With a loving group of cheerleaders sending me on, I stepped out into an entirely different world than the one I left behind; however, with faith and confidence I knew who I was as I went forth and never forgot the lessons embedded in my heart and soul.
